Update of the Rolling Mill at Grupo SIMEC Mexicali Plant, Mexico

A continuous roughing mill will be introduced, for improved productivity, better temperature control and ease of maintenance. Besides, a new handling area will be built, for better bar straigthness, more precise cutting and easier automatic stacking formation

The rolling mill has a capacidaty of 300,000 metric tons per year, at a maximum rolling capacity of 60 t/h. It will roll square billets of 160, 136 and 115 mm. Reinforcing bar from 9.5 to 38.1 mm diameter; round bars from 12.7 to 38.1 mm, squares, angles, U shapes and flats will be produced
