Distance Consulting: Blowholes in Billets

Due to a request of a steel company, metallon consultants carried out a distance-consulting job, with the aim of minimizing the occurrence of blowholes in steel billets produced at their meltshop

A kick-off presentation was given, followed by interchange of information using several media. A detailed e-learning training on blowhole formation, evolution during rolling and prevention was attended by steelmaking, casting, rolling and quality people. A final report with results, conclusions and recommendations was issued.
